I am SO GLAD YOU ASKED, Hit and Run In This Mundane World! is an isekai parody I'm kinda writing. So there's a hero named Shiko Fujita, he's initially a stereotypical shonen isekai hero (overpowered, average guy with little to no personality, has a large harem but is oblivious to any interest in him) but with a bit more conceitedness. He already saved the world before the light novel so he's just been the Sun King's silly rabbit appointed "keeper of peace" and killing anyone the Sun King hates. He dies and makes a deal to be brought back to life on Earth. If he sends 1000 people to the isekai world, he can return. To do that, he has to team up with a sentient truck named Neil. Neil has some stuff I'll get into under the cut but all Shiko knows is that he's forced to work with him, and they hate each other at first.
Anyways back to the original point of this post, the yaoibaiting would be implying Shiko and Neil are going to be a couple. The truth is there is no yaoi because a. Shiko is aroace and x-gender (x-gender is a third gender category in Japan. I definitely need to do more research on it but from my limited knowledge it's very similar to non-binary) and he hasn't realized it yet, and b. Neil has no romantic or sexual interest in Shiko despite being an allo gay man himself. They do eventually become a QPR though so you could argue that's platonic yaoi but if someone did say "at least they're queerplatonic" or something along those lines I would bite their head off
Spoiler stuff under the cut because I'm so autistic for my own stories. But again these are spoilers and not related to the yaoibaiting above
-Neil used to be human. He was accidentally hit by a truck, and since he wasn't supposed to be isekaid and there were already enough people at the moment, he got to possess the truck with the deal that he'd send a certain amount of people before being able to return to being human. Sound familiar?
-The Demon Lord is appears in another project of mine called Round and Round We Go. He's called Etienne in there and he's just a bit of an unemployed dude who hangs out with ver younger half-sibling and faer bestie when they go monster hunting. The only hint to this is him being like "You know I was a king once" whenever ve feels like bragging or trying to one up someone despite the trauma baggage with it
-There's a huge other plot happening simultaneously, which sets up the background of the isekai world. Basically the Sun and Moon Kingdoms were at peace until one day the Demon Lord took over the Moon Kingdom, starting a huge war. It lasted a very long time, with many heroes dying before Shiko finally appeared there. The Sun Princess (Alina) and the long lost Moon Princess (Katsumi) are yuri
-Katsumi is the antagonist at first, trying to stop Shiko and Neil from committing vehicular manslaughter. The two are warned that he's an old enemy of the Sun King and it's trying to stop them because she's trying to stop the Sun King. Turns out that's not such a bad thing!
-Shiko gets replaced by a clown named Trixy. No she really is a literal clown, she died as she was dejectedly walking out of clown school when she got kicked out. She's the Sun King's court jester now
-Shiko has a sister named Junko. Her original backstory is she was offered the chance to be a magical girl but rejected the offer, but I'm not sure if I'm using it anymore. She used to be his younger sister but when Shiko died she kept growing up and is in her mid 20s now. Fucked up to see your older brother the same age when you're an adult
-Katsumi is Junko's roommate and she had no fucking idea about the isekai shit
-There's another character named Hasedonia, she's Shiko's ex. People think she's half dragon but she has a curse that gives her horns and scaly patches and multiple eyes and fangs. The people in her village were terrified of her and thought to be contagious, so she lets people believe the half dragon thing to avoid ostracization. She also heard that curses could be cured with true love! That's why she dated Shiko. Neither of them were into it.
-The Sun King has very malicious intentions. This is really vague but you know Madoka Magica? Like that but worse
Uhhh I think those are the biggest plot beats and fun facts I have for now, I like to improvise answers to fit into the world if asked stuff so feel free to ask more stuff
Should I yaoibait with Hit and Run In This Mundane World (isekai parody where isekai hero has to commit vehicular manslaughter with a sentient truck on Earth in order to return to the isekai world after he died)

I started rewatching Milo Murphy's Law again and had the compulsion to do a quick sketch of Jaxon, Robin, and Holmes as Milo, Melissa and Zack. God I love this show (go watch it it's by the same creators of Phineas and Ferb also I need a 3rd season and the only way to get that is if it gets an uptick of views on Disney+)
[Image description: Four pictures of three sketches of three people. The first image has all of them together, while the consecutive ones are of each person on their own. The first person is Jaxon. Xe is wearing a striped sweater vest over a short collared shirt, shorts, socks, and slipper-like shoes. Xe has long curly hair that is hanging down, a mole near xir mouth, and vertical slit pupils. Xe's looking left and winking while giving a toothy grin and doing finger guns.
The second person is Robin. They're wearing a cropped jacket with a black shirt underneath, a miniskirt, socks, and Converse. Their hair is s sidecut; shaved on her left with the right side being wavy and reaching her chin. Their face is dotted with freckles. She's pumping her fist and their mouth is in an open smile.
The third person is Holmes. He is wearing a short t-shirt over a long-sleeve one, somewhat baggy jeans, sneakers, and a thin black choker. His hair is tied back in a long ponytail, his arms are crossed, and he's looking upwards with a closed smile. /End ID]
Bonus:
Tumblr media
Shiko and Neil as Cavendish and Dakota
[Image description: A sketch of two people. The one on the left is Shiko. He's wearing a small tophat with goggles, and small rectangular glasses that sit somewhat under his eyes. In order of outer layer to lower, he has a suit jacket with coattails, a buttoned up vest, a tie tucked under the vest, and a collared shirt on. He wears pants that pool up over his shoes. His hair is short with medium length messy bangs. The person on the right is Neil. Neil is wearing aviatior sunglasses, a half unzipped tracksuit revealing a t-shirt underneath, a gold chain hanging low on his neck, and sneakers. Neil has shaggy hair that reaches his neck. Shiko and Neil are turned away from each other. Shiko is grimacing at Neil, while Neil smiles back at him. /End ID]

Hi its me your mutual and i am tentatively coming out of hiding to finally ask about your OCs if thats cool! Jaxon is my favorite so far, best characters are intergalactic world destroyers. I was wondering the reasons behind choosing their names? and if any of them owns any pets? Jaxon reads to me as someone who would own a lizard.
HI MUTUAL :DDDD Yes I welcome all questions! Good choice Jaxon is one of my favorites too
Okay, we're going to have to travel back to that weird first iteration for this. Jaxon was closer to an actual eldritch god back then (the whole mass of tentacles ordeal), Robin was a secret government agent, Holmes was their former partner, Charles was a literal shadow being, and Bailey was a not-vampire and Charles' actual body. Yes it was weird.
Robin was chosen because Jay was their original name, and after faking their death to go live with Jaxon, I was like "uh gender neutral name similar to Jay. Blue jay. That's a bird. Robin is a bird. Robin." Jay is actually her middle name now in this version!
I'm pretty sure Jaxon was chosen because I liked the name Jackson, but I wanted to spell it as Jaxon because X is meant to symbolize the unknown.
Holmes was supposed to be a one-off character. He was supposed to be in one scene. Oops! I made an entire character based off of him. Part of this one-off scene was a joke about "No shit, Sherlock" and he replied "Actually, my name is Holmes". He had a few other names, the only one I remember being Sebastian. I chose this one because he's a merman and I really liked the song "Gay Pirates" by Cosmo Jarvis (TW for rape, violence, and homophobia).
Not much reasoning for Bailey. It was a gender neutral name and cute. Did you know Bailey means bailiff or berry clearing? I just looked that up. It has nothing to do with her but the name itself fits her
Charles used to be Reese. I only found that out recently because it didn't stick at all. I then changed to Charlie, but I already have an informal OC named Charlie (they're a little round birb who's constantly grumpy and done with everyone's antics) so I decided on Charles.
Adrienne was taken from an old OC from a scrapped project. His name was Adrian but I decided on the feminine form for Adrienne. It's a cool name.
For Etienne I wanted an E name and ended up looking at French names. Etienne means crown or garland which fits because he was a king. It was a bonus that it went with Adrienne.
Shiko's name is made of the kanji for death (死) and child (子). He's supposed to be a bit of an edgy dude and I knew I wanted to have a name I could use the kanji for death in. That's the writing he chose; the original is 史壷 (the kanji for history and jar).
Neil is a reference to Neil Cicierega. He's a truck, Neil Cicierega sang Two Trucks, boom his name is Neil
Kami is just spelled in hiragana as opposed to kanji. I chose it because God, but kami can also mean hair or paper. She also has a couple different names and I remember one had "ka" and "mi" in it. I'm thinking she derived Kami from that since the name isn't an associated kanji
None of them officially own pets yet but I love the idea of Jaxon having a lizard! I also think Holmes would have a cat that would quickly become Bailey's after he moves in because said cat became attached to her :3 Etienne would have a St. Bernard and Neil would have a rat

Day 1: Journey
AN: This takes place before the events of Hit and Run in this Mundane World! (an isekai parody where a dude named Shiko Fujita dies in an isekai world called Phitania so he has to redeem himself by hitting people with a truck to send them there). It's about a week after Shiko was sent to Phitania, which is about three years before the story itself. I saw the prompt and immediately went "Oh duh, Shiko had a typical shonen isekai experience" so here we go!
Following the prompt list created by @oc-growth-and-development. Today's prompt is Journey. Enjoy!
~~~
Shiko Fujita is very glad he had died.
Wait, that was a bad way of putting it. At the moment he thought he had, but he had been wrong.
No, Shiko is very glad he had been hit by that random truck while crossing the street. At the time, everything had been falling apart. He had been rejected by a girl, he was failing school, he realized he didn’t secretly have magic powers, and he didn’t have any friends to even listen to him, so getting hit with a truck had been the cherry on top of the sundae. He could still feel it. The moment his body went flying through the air, pain radiating through his body, gasps from the people around him, the impending fall, shutting his eyes-
Well, he’s here now. No need to ruminate on it. He turns away from the mirror and walks out of his room, black cape fluttering after him.
Alina is casually leaning on a chaise, waiting for him. “We’re going on a quest, not to a ball.”
He flashes a smile at her. “Maybe we can go to one after we win.”
She gives a stilted smile and sits up. “Sure.”
Shiko runs to catch up to her as she nearly makes it to the other side of the hall. “So we need to find this Demon Lord, right?”
“We’ve only been talking about this for several days,” she sighs. “I guess I shouldn’t expect you to remember it all.”
Shiko frowns. He was never much into tsunderes, but he could manage them. Eventually she would warm up to him along the journey and then they would kiss, and he could have the beautiful elf princess. He knows how these types of manga always end.
They enter the court room, the King already there with his advisor. He looks down at both of them from the tall, silver throne with warm eyes.
“Alina, Shiko, you two have finally decided to arrive,” he says, his voice stern with a hint of teasing slipping through.
“I’m sorry, father. Fujita was held up.” Alina gives him a pointed glare as she says this.
Shiko shrugs it off. “Where is the Demon Lord, my king?”
The advisor unrolls a large map and points to the center of Phitania.
“We currently think he’s hiding out here,” the King explains. “There’s a few paths you can take-”
“Give me the toughest one,” Shiko interrupts.
Alina gapes at him, but Shiko isn’t paying attention to her right now.
The King taps his chin. “The most difficult one?”
“Of course. I can handle it.”
“We’re a team, and I say-”
“Are you worried about being hurt? I can protect you.”
She sighs. “Father, don’t listen to him. If we take the one with the most cover-”
“Worry not, Alina. I can protect you from whatever we encounter.”
She opens her mouth to protest, but the King laughs. “I believe you, Shiko. You are the fabled hero, after all. Isn’t he, Alina?”
Alina closes her mouth and nods. “Right.” She turns back to Shiko. “We can talk about this later.”
The King continues as if there had been no interruption. “To leave, you’ll need to go over the mountains to the east…”
Shiko nods along, making noises of agreement as the King lays out the plan. Go over the mountains, make their way through the desert, slash through the jungle, and finally make it to the heart of the volcanic ruins. Easy.
“Thank you, Sun King. I shall emerge victorious,” Shiko promises.
The King smiles warmly. “Good luck, heroes. May you free the land from the grasp of the Demon Lord.”
“Thank you, father.” Alina turns away and gestures for Shiko to follow.
As soon as the two are out of ear shot, she elbows him.
“Ow!” Shiko grabs his arm and hisses at her. “What was that for?”
“Are you an idiot? We could die, Fujita.”
He shrugs. “Hey, it’s not a quest without a little danger, right? Besides, I’ve played plenty of video games.”
She groans and smacks her head. “I have no idea why my father instituted you as the leader of this party when I’m plenty more qualified.”
“I’m destined for greatness.” Shiko steps out of the back doors and gazes towards the mountains. Their first checkpoint was only 100 kilometers away, but they were walking on foot.
Alina points towards the woods. “If we go off the trail, we’ll get there sooner, but there’s a few low forces out there.”
“Good. Then I can get some experience.” Shiko immediately heads off to the woods.
Alina follows, keeping her distance. “I thought you said you played video games.”
“They’ll help, but it’s like playing the same game on a different console. You know the basics, but it’ll take some getting used to with a new controller.”
“Mhm.”
The walk is completely silent as they march further in. The treetops begin to blot out the sky, only letting a few godrays slip in. Shiko squints to see further, but the path still appears to be clear. Despite no danger being present, Alina keeps touching the sword to her side.
“You have nothing to worry about,” Shiko says. “Nothing’s happened yet-”
Just as the words leave his mouth, the bushes rustle. He freezes, while Alina quickens her pace and continues walking.
“There’s something here!” Shiko yells.
“Yeah, and if you ignore it, nothing happens,” Alina says calmly, her voice fading with every step.
Ah. A chance to farm for EXP then. Shiko kicks the bush, sending leaves scattering upwards. He watches them fly up before slowly settling onto the ground. He waits a few moments. Nothing. He kicks it more gently this time. Nothing. One more small nudge. Nothing.
Shiko turns around and takes a few steps before he suddenly trips. “Gah!”
He splats down onto the ground, taking in a mouth full of dirt before spitting it out. He sits back up and quickly assesses his surroundings. Of course. Slimes were always the first enemy you encounter, and he had come across an entire swarm of them.
“Alina!” Shiko yells out.
The slimes quickly move, as if suddenly unfrozen, and begin to attack him. Well, bumping into him is a much more accurate description. It’s more ticklish than anything, but they won’t let up. He tries grabbing them, but they slip out from his fingers and make high-pitched chirps at him.
“Calm down, calm down, I’m leaving,” Shiko says more quietly. “See?”
The slimes pause long enough for him to make his first move.
Shiko draws his sword and slashes through the closest slime. A rush of adrenaline courses through him as the slime splits in half like he had just taken a hot knife to butter. It squeals before suddenly cutting off, and the other slimes quickly move back away from him.
As the slime slides onto the ground and disintegrates, he can almost feel his body growing stronger. Wow, his first enemy, and he’s already won. This quest was going to be a breeze.
He lets himself smile as he sprints towards the next one, sword raised over head and ready to come down.
Hit and Run in this Mundane World! Intro
This is an intro post for my story, Hit and Run in this Mundane World! It's a parody of isekai anime, following a teen boy named Shiko Fujita. Shiko was the best warrior and assassin in Phitania until one very stupid mistake killed him. Luckily for Shiko, he can redeem himself by sending more heroes to Phitania! By teaming up with Neil, a talking truck, the two will have to send 1,000 people in order to succeed. Of course, it's not as easy as it sounds and things are more sinister behind the scenes. There's only 3 main characters so far, and they're all under the cut! Feel free to ask questions!
Tumblr media
Shiko Fujita (he/him)
Shiko was a perfect warrior who defeated the Demon Lord, which allowed him to become the King's Assassin. He's very self-centered and used to praise/getting what he wants due to everyone loving him in Phitania. He was sent to Phitania many years ago and barely remembers his life on Earth.
(This is the one time I will use a faceclaim)
Tumblr media
Neil (he/him)
Neil is a truck. He can talk. Okay, there's more to him than just that. He doesn't really like Shiko, but is trying to work with him so that they can both get those 1,000 people sent. He doesn't need his soul cleansed like Shiko, but he does need that quota to get met so his wish can be granted.
Tumblr media
Kami (any pronouns)
Kami is a strange human(?) who keeps showing up and derailing Shiko and Neil's quest. In fact, Shiko keeps realizing he looks very familiar, but it's probably nothing to worry about. She's just really annoying and refuses to answer any questions. They can also shapeshift into a crane.
